ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN - kino sojus LP (absurd creature / behind the scenes) $6
After years of silence Berlin..s ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN deliever their 2nd full-length release "kino sojus". Yet again you..ll get an agitated immensity in explosive velocity. Pieces of dark fused hits metallic and post-rock influences in an expansively loud combination of darkness. Male and female vocals trade off hope, despair, condemnation and resistance. An incredible evolution of the band ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN.

ANCHOR - the quiet dance LP (refuse) $6
Political Vegan Straight Edge Hardcore from Sweden. It's definitely one of the highlights of the Swedish HC scene in recent years, consist past and current members of such rad bands like DAMAGE CONTROL, SET MY PATH, SMACKDOWN, ANOTHER YEAR or GERILJA. Their sound is influenced by 90's sXe hardcore bands like Trial, Unbroken, Mouthpiece or Refused, but it can also appeal for fans of such current bands like Verse or Haveheart. They're definitely on their own terms with the sound and their message of compassion and awareness. Hard-working band with impressive amount of the shows on their backs. They can ranks high among the best european hardcore acts right now! CD version was out on Catalyst Records in the Usa.

ANCIENT SKY - s/t LP (perpetual motion machine) $8
This is the first official release for Brooklyn-based, Virginia-natives ANCIENT SKY. Consisting of two pairs of close childhood friends with intertwining musical pasts, the group features current and former members of DARKEST HOUR, CITY OF CATERPILLAR, MAJORITY RULE, GHASTLY CITY SLEEP, VERSE EN COMA and YOU ARE THE DRUM, though they tread very different waters with ANCIENT SKY.Largely influenced by classic psychedelic rock, the band isn't afraid to visit bizarre and far-out worlds with unique sounds and structures that walk the line between fierce and subtle, and occasionally flirt with epic-ness, making for an interesting mix of heavy, hypnotic rock with plenty of hooks and Americana influences.                                                                  myspace.com/ancientskybandANS - pressure cracks LP (tank crimes) $8
A.N.S. from Texas are one of the most killer punk/crossover bands out there. After 2 albums and a dozen or so splits and EP's, they've produced their most focused (and best) material to date on "Pressure Cracks" the 3rd album from this prolific hardcore band. The heaviest influences are common, but maybe A.N.S. grab from less obvious albums, combining here a killer blend of the "professional hardcore" of "Feel the Darkness" era Poison Idea, the drugged out heavy metal / classic rock influenced punk of "My War" and beyond Black Flag, plus the high energy crossover thrash of "Lights, Camera, Revolution" era Suicidal Tendencies. It's a serious crossover record, sharpened by countless tours over the past few years hitting Japan, Europe and US repeated and relentlessly

ARMIA - triodante LP (manufaktura legenda) $12
widely regarded as part of polish punk's classic releases, "Triodante" is the opinion of many the greatest artistic success of an album. Sounds very dynamic go far beyond the punk rock style, which so far the group has been identified ... The combination of punk expression   at times jazz  gave very interesting effect trance musical journey. Tom Budzynski texts inspired by the "Divine Comedy" Dante create an intriguing story, which in turn leads us through hell, through purgatory to heaven by creating a coherent story, which, combined with the richness of the music gives the album a very consistent album. Especially for the vinyl edition of the material has been re-mastered,

ASEETHE / MAUUL -  navitas est deus split LP (scenester credentials) $6
Finally available to the world, the epic 'Navitas Est Deus' split LP as performed by Aseethe and Mauul. This release is a combination of two of our favorite doomy experimental ambient noise artists. Although not intended as a collaboration the record plays as one. Aseethe is one man, Brian Barr (ex-Law of All Ends), playing structured distorted electronic doom noise compositions. The Aseethe side of the split features, Ill Omen, an 18 minute long song that falls somewhere in between SUNN0))) and Jesu. When listening to Aseethe the listener is wrapped in the power and dynamics of the bands compositions.
Mauul is the one man minimal noise and sound scape experimentation project of Phil Mauul from Open Goat. The Mauul side of the split is noise / sound experimentation at its best. Minimal to the point of non-existence and layered with a powerful blend of electronic skronks, static, and noise spanning 18 minutes in length. limited to 109 copies.

BAD MAN - neighborhood watch  LP (flat black) $6
New-ish band from california spits out this raging lp full of ultra fast and tight thrashy punk killers. THis band brings to mind ILL REPUTE, JFA, DRI and DEEP WOUND. It's that extra fast style that takes it to the next level and isn't just trying to sound like every one else. Side A is killer studio tracks, Side 2 is rip roaring raw demo tracks. If you like DLA, imagine them on 45 and you got this.

BEYOND PINK - jedan dva, jabla te ja (emancypunk) $12
BEYOND PINK is an all female band from Sweden and after their debut "Cunt-oh-licious" 7" on Cunts On Discount Rec and Lipstick MachinegunRec, they're back with brand new release: full length LP release on Emancypunx Records called "Jedan dva jebla te ja". It contains 12 songs of fast raging angry hardcore with some melodies and tempo changes fronted by two vocalists. This is definitely something for all those into fast hardcore, as well as riot grrrls sounds and tradition of the 80's swedish hc/punk. Their music reflects how wide influences they have and it makes their music powerful and kicking. Lyrics of BEYOND PINK are alongside with the music, they reflect anger and critical views on issues like macho/sexistculture, violent dancing, cops, pro-life fundemantalists or corporate capitalism and their financial institutions like WTO and G8. "Jedan Dva, Jebla Te Ja" LP contains 20pgs booklet with lyrics of the band and pics. One out of the 12 songs on the LP is a Misfits coversong.

BILL BONDSMEN - swallowed by the world (deadbeat) $8
from terminal boredom:
Bill Bondsmen manage to throw together the best elements of fast punishing 1980’s American hardcore/punk with all the best components of Japanese and other foreign hardcore/punk influences while adding in their own original touch with herky-jerky starts and stops and oddly timed breakdowns and rhythms that don’t seem like they could be played the same way more than once but are, combined with the best most angry, potent, funny, and witty lyrics in punk today. Recorded by Mitch Wolf at Mitch Wolf Studios and mixed by Warn Defever at Brown Rice Studio, the sound is much rawer and more stripped down than previous recordings, which the band benefits by, giving it a far more intense feel and sound. Twelve songs in all, which the Bondsmen have really stepped up on and delivered the goods, even including a tasteful cover of Detroit punk legends Feisty Cadavers “Live Like Vampires” which rips and actually gives the original a run for its money. The record also features the best closer to a hardcore/punk album heard since Black Flag’s Damaged with the eerily slow droning number “A Bird In the Hand Means You’ve Been Dead For A Few Days”. Honestly. It’s that good. All in all, an absolutely flawless LP down to the amazing artwork by Christopher Ilth, and perhaps the first classic hardcore/punk LP of the later days of the early 2000’s.

BLACK BLOOD WORLD / ESKATOL - split LP (nakkeskudd/bombsaway) $6
a norwegian split lp of relatively new bands....always a good start.
Black Blood World lead off side A with some very Sepultura (chaos AD and Roots era)  and Hatebreed (i cant really say) sounding metal. really up front sounding and pissed. lyrics attack scene leeches, iraq, apathy and there's even a song alluding to queer pride.
for a pretty modern sounding metal band (well there's obvious crust and punk roots), the lyrics  make the whole thing far more interesting and likeable.
Eskatol on the other hand have a weaving, melodic crust thing going on with dual vocals and nice harmonies all over the place. but like their record-mates, Eskatol like to mix it up with some grind and (dare i say) breakdowns. pretty technical stuff not unlike where Ictus was earlier on.  my norwegian is rusty as fuck, but knowing what i know of them, i'm sure they are screaming their asses off about something important. surely. pretty awesome, solid stuff. check it out!!

BLACK FREIGHTER - graves and monuments LP (vendetta) $10
black freighter's sound is dirty ; downtuned guitars , lots of feedback ; brutal and aggressive vocals ; you can hear influences from eye hate god to godflesh to coalesce and his hero is gone ; a perfect mix of sludge / industrial / hardcore"

BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS / KODIAK - split LP (denovali) $16
Germans Black Shape Of Nexus enveloped everyone in a bleak miasma of hatred and despair." (Terrorizer) Appropriately for BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS as the suffocating heaviness of their music functions either way – they can be the centre of your worst nightmares or the connection to all those dark places where you don’t ever want to go. Or both. Pummelling you with painfully slow doom and finishing you off with acrid, harsh drones, B-SON give down-tempo a whole new meaning.
"KODIAK is not a band that you just play for enjoyment; it needs time and attention, but when it locks you in its slowly developing, pachyderm-paced punishing groove, KODIAK has a lot to offer, proving that monotony and monolithic heaviness are enough to make great songs, if you know how. Kodiak definitely know it."

BLUENECK - the fallen host 2x10" (denovali) $20
"
People who like to lose themselves in the place within will like our music,” says Blueneck singer Duncan Attwood, summing up the profound, epic nature of the band's work in a single sentence. Blueneck write the soundtrack to the greatest movie you've never seen and never will see. Others are talking about being unique and writing dense songs - Blueneck are creating their completely own sound far away from any postrock, indie whatever clichés.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL / S.A.T.A.N. - split LP (trujaca fala/more) $10
-2 polish bands entered recording studios for the 2nd time and decided to put the result of those sessions on one split LP. Good idea, as both bands can be placed on similar shelf - angry, fast, full of fury punk mixing fast hardcore with powerviolence and grindcore. You can say they are inspired by Artimus Pyle, Iron Lung, Dystopia, Orchid, Discordance Axis among many others.
The Bold and The Beautiful from Lublin (with people from Amen, Antichrist, Knife in the leg, Silence and more) goes more into 80's hardcore direction, but with full speed. S.A.T.A.N. (with guys from Romeo Must Die and H-407) go more into grind direction. Brutal record.

Long Island, New York’s own grindcore masters, BUCKSHOT FACELIFT bring their second & newest full length LP on an awesome 1-Sided Colored vinyl 12” w/ etching on the blank side. This record is really a frightening beast. Powerful and chaotic.

CELESTE - mort(e) nee(s) DLP (denovali) $22
-They did it again. They again wrote a heavier, better, darker full lenght than the last time and in this context they enhanced their unique, incomparable sound with new elements like samples or they experimented for the first time with guest musicians (from les fragments de la nuit) plus new instruments like piano and strings. Celeste and piano & strings? Yes! And it fits amazingly.of course they also again created a new level of denseness in their sound - definitely on of the best and most unique metalbands of today. don’t pass up on (one of) the heaviest albums of the year!!!

DEAD IN THE WATER - echoes...in the ruins LP (winter) $6
Formed in Finland in 2000, Dead In The Water slowly shifted from their early hardcore/crust/punk sound to a more slow doom-paced metal, still laced with their crusty beginnings. The band released a 7" in 2002 and followed that up with an EP in 2003. Now DITW offers a depressive, crushing, oppressive full-length debut, pointing the way for a very heavy future.

DERROTA - asko infinito! LP (rust and machine)    $6
New LP of these tireless punks, which in a way summarizes and condenses the 5 years of existance and its evolution as a band. With a crust influenced punk-rock base, they mix elements from death-rock or post-punk making the whole sound very solid, original and outstanding. Political nihilism and social rancour on their lyrics, filthily beautiful artwork. Alltoghether, a fine work of modern punk. Inlcudes a 20 pages booklet-fanzine with translations into english, french, and german and a Larsen cover.

DEZERTER - underground out of poland LP (nik nikt nie wie) $12
Underground Out of Poland is the debut studio album by Polish punk rock band Dezerter.
It was released in US during 1987 through Maximumrocknroll Records (Joey Shithead from D.O.A.helped in the release), and was re-released in 1996 by QQRYQ Productions and 2002 by Pop Noise Records. Track 1-4 was recorded in 1983, in Studio Wawrzyszew, 5-8 and 15-17 in 1984 at Jarocin Festival, 10-15 and 18 on illegal session on Program 1 Polskiego Radiastudio. The cover art was created by David Lester and Martin Sprouse.Underground Out of Poland is considered to be one of the most important albums in the history of Polish rock.this is the re release in time for the 20th anniversary (last fall) of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

DEZERTER - Ile procent duszy? LP (pasazer) $12
The matter is simple. Originally released in 1994, and probably not the best, and certainly the most popular disc Dezerter from the 90s, never appeared on vinyl. Until today.

DIOXIN - s/t 12" (strongly opposed)  $6
Swiss chaotic Anarcho punk from 1988. 5 lengthy tracks on a 12". An obscure, but very cool reissue.  Originally recorded in 1988, this release did not see the light of day until now. Fast past thrash that's just shy of hitting blast beat speeds. I suppose this was a typical type of hardcore in the late '80s in Europe with bands like Intense Degree, Electro Hippies, etc., so if you're into that type of stuff, you might want to check this out too.

DISKELMA - fun is over LP (kamaset levyt) $10
from MRR #303
Wow! This is an amazing record. DISKELMÄ is from Finland and plays a great mix of raw dark crust like HELLSHOCK, '80s German trash metal a la Kreator or DESTRUCTION, and Finnish HC blended with, of course, a DISCHARGE sound. This may sound chaotic or like it may not work, but I can tell you it certainly does!! This is one of my favourite records of the year already! Shit!

myspace.com/diskelma

DISSYSTEMA - the silent earth LP (final attempt/midnight sea)   $6
This record finally comes out! Philly's Motor-Charge delivers their newest and I'd say best record. All the elements of a great D-Beat/Crust record are all here. Fist pumping gang vocals, distorted bass, lots of cymbals, solos to do spirit fingers to and the obligatory songs about war. The vocals alternate between 3 singers, which adds a lot of variety. Oh and I should mention in 'Lust For War' they take the line from the movie 300, 'Tonight We Dine in Hell' and make it punk.
myspace.com/dissystema

DOGENDS - the butcher LP (secret)  $6
Dogends, the newest threat from Oxnard's legendary hardcore punk scene (known, aptly, as Nardcore), is definitely a band to watch. Their debut effort, 'The Butcher,' fits the typical mold of a Nardcore band: crunching riffs and shouting vocals, all delivered at a rapid fire tempo. That's a recipe that's hard to beat. 'The Butcher' begins out with 'Skate, Eat, Thrash' which has the potential to become compared to RKL's 'Drink Positive' and Agression's 'Intense Energy.' Also, any band that can poke fun at their own girth is worth a listen in my book. 'Skate, Eat, Thrash' really sets the pace for the entire album, with songs tackling a diverse range of subjects from heroin abuse ('Born on Methadone') to Mexican Food ('LTG'). The title track is also a highlight, with stunningly sharp razor riffage. And each and every song reaps the benefits of killer bass and drum intros.Dogends, along with The Last Priority, are the forerunners of the modern Nardcore movement, and anyone interested in hardcore punk should give them a listen. They have the potential to one day be regarded on the same level as the immortal Ill Repute.

DOMINIC / THE THIRD MEMORY - split LP (denovali)  $6
Two new songs from both bands. Both have that typical 90's emo feeling to it. Funeral Diner and Portraits of Past fans should dig this. Dominic wins it for me though with their slighty softer approach. love it.
myspace.com/thethirdmemory

DRAINLAND / GRINDING HALT - split 10" (suburban mayhem/shove/de graan rep) $8
Dutch vs Irish brutality. Three songs from GH which sounds somewhere between Left For Dead and From Ashes Rise. Drainland come on their first release with two songs which remind us of Unruh playing Dystopia songs. Serious negative stuff by friendly people.
